This kit is easy to install, doesn't require any cutting or splicing, and will fit all KLR 650's and Afrika singles from 1987 thru current.

The light isn't just a straight up conversion either. You also get the ability to program 4 different ways to help grab peoples attention.

An added bonus to this tail light is it frees up some of those electrons flowing through your stock wiring. Check out the power consumption comparison below.

Stock : 5 Watts in running light mode and 21 Watts when the brakes are applied.
LED : 0.6 Watts in running light mode and 4 Watts when the brakes are applied.

Measured Difference

I am an engineer and took some light level readings before and after on my 2014 KLR650. Ambient light at 11:00 PM where tested = 0.1 Foot Candles. Running Light Stock at 3 feet = 1.1 Foot Candles. Brake Light Stock at 3 feet = 12.2 Foot Candles. Running Light CLPS_LEDTAIL at 3 feet = 5.5 Foot Candles. Brake Light CLPS_LEDTAIL at 3 feet = 35.2 Foot Candles. Install required no modifications of any kind. Simply swap the LED board for the old bulb and put the lens back on.

Excellent product

Plug and play... almost.. you have to file down the screw posts to accept the units tabs.. and cut the rubber block down a bit to fit the lights in the tail light housing... After that you will have some of the best lighting available.. Super bright Flashing..!!!

Great Light Kit

I bought this for a 2014 KLR 650 to decrease electrical load due to adding additional riding lights. The replacement light kit arrived in excellent packaging to prevent any physical damage to include electrostatic damage to the circuit board. The kit is a direct plug and play unit. The posts in the socket are offset so you cannot get the polarity wrong. You do have to file down the posts for the mounting screws about 1/8th of an inch in order to get the tail light cover to seal against the rubber gasket due to the added thickness of the kit mounting brackets. There are dip switches to adjust the light pattern and you can easily depress the foot brake and observe the options. The patterns are bright and grab your attention so visibility from other vehicles will not be a problem even in day light, unless they are not paying attention. In short, a great kit that is easy to install and should increase your visibility to others. I wish they made them for my other bikes.

Excellent product, easy and quick to install. Poor instruction on how and where to install rubber bumper. Could not figure out so did not install. Also, instructions on switchs for quick flash were incorrect. Very bright and overall happy. Give product and shipping a 5. Knocked off 1 star due to poor instruction on bumper.

Bright!

Absolutely the brightest taillight I've ever had the pleasure to use. On order of 2 or 3 times brighter than stock for running taillight and 10 times brighter than standard brake light illumination. You cannot go wrong with this upgrade for a KLR. It's certainly a WOW factor!
